Vitality beat TheMongolz 2-0 in Round 2 of the PGL Masters Bucharest 2026 group stage on Sunday 25 October, taking both maps in a best of three. The win keeps the French organisation unbeaten at the event, with UK player mezii part of a lineup that has yet to drop a series in Romania.

For British fans, mezii remains the clearest home interest in the tournament. He lines up alongside apEX and ZywOo from France, Estonia’s ropz and flameZ of Israel, in a roster that sits first in the Elo power rankings.

A 46-minute opener, then a quicker close

The first map was the tougher of the two. It ran for 46 minutes before Vitality took the lead in the series.

The second was shorter. Vitality closed it out in 34 minutes to wrap up the result without needing a decider, a tidier finish than the opener had suggested.

The gap on paper was wide. Vitality are rated 1995 with a 59-13 record across 72 rated matches, while TheMongolz sit 36th on 1748, with 35 wins and 28 defeats from 63. On this evidence the rankings held firm.

Vitality’s run reaches six straight wins

This was Vitality’s sixth consecutive series victory. Before arriving in Bucharest they beat Team Falcons 2-1, PARIVISION 2-0, Aurora Gaming 2-1 and MOUZ 3-0 at ESL Pro League Season 24, and they opened this event with a 2-0 win over 9z in Round 1.

TheMongolz came in with momentum of their own. A Round 1 victory over Aurora Gaming, won 2-1, followed four straight wins at 1win Private Club Season 2 against magic, PRIVATE, BIG and PARIVISION, the last of those a 3-0. Sunday’s defeat ended that run at five.

The Mongolian roster of bLitz, Techno, 910, cobrazera, tikuak and DarkMeister now has one win and one loss in the group stage.

FUT Esports up next on Monday 26 October

Round 2 elsewhere produced a string of clean results. Natus Vincere beat FURIA 2-0, Legacy saw off DENDELE CS 2-0, MOUZ swept 9z, BetBoom Team beat Nemiga 2-0 and Aurora Gaming bounced back by beating G2 2-0.

The most eye-catching of those came from FUT Esports, who beat Liquid 2-0. That sets up Vitality’s next assignment. The two meet on Monday 26 October, with the world’s top-rated team facing a side fresh from a sweep of their own.
