If you thought solitaire was simply a case of shuffling a deck and hoping for the best, Jewel Match Solitaire X has considerably more planned.
The latest entry in the series arrives on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S, bringing more than 500 levels, multiple solitaire variants and a whole collection of distractions to keep card fans busy.
Alongside the traditional card-playing action, players can build palaces, hunt down gems and coins, tackle Mahjong and Match-2 bonus stages and even try out a brand-new sliding level type.

A Solitaire Adventure With Plenty To Discover
Jewel Match Solitaire X isn’t content with offering just one way to play. Alongside familiar favourites such as Klondike, Spider and Freecell, the game includes 12 additional solitaire variants, giving players plenty of opportunities to mix things up.
There are also more than 500 main levels to work through, while 60 replayable Mahjong bonus levels and additional Match-2, Supersize and Challenge stages add even more variety.
Getting through each level isn’t always as simple as clearing the cards either. Thorns, chains, ribbons, vines and seals can all get in the way, while frozen and elevator cards introduce further complications. The new Sliding levels add another twist to the formula, giving returning players something unfamiliar to master.
Familiar Formula, Bigger Package
We’ve spent some time with the Jewel Match Solitaire formula before. Our 3/5 review of Jewel Match Solitaire L’Amour found that entry stuck closely to the established template, with familiar power-ups, obstacles and hundreds of Tri-Peaks puzzles. We noted that there was plenty for dedicated solitaire fans to get through, although the increasing grind and artificial difficulty ultimately left us wanting more.
Jewel Match Solitaire X certainly isn’t throwing that formula out of the window. Instead, it looks to broaden it considerably, with more solitaire variants, multiple bonus game types and a new Sliding level format joining the familiar card-based action.
Whether that extra variety is enough to keep the formula feeling fresh will, naturally, depend on how much you enjoy the Jewel Match approach. At least this time there’s a rather substantial deck of content to work through.
A Very Full Deck
With more than 500 solitaire levels, numerous variants and a sizeable collection of bonus activities, Jewel Match Solitaire X is clearly aiming to be a substantial package for fans of card-based puzzles.
It may not be reinventing the Jewel Match Solitaire formula, but there’s certainly plenty more packed into this latest instalment. If you’re already a fan of the series, or simply enjoy having a mountain of solitaire puzzles to chip away at, this could be another sizeable addition to your Xbox library.
