Minior has fallen into Pokémon Go! In keeping with its meteor theme, this Pokémon will only be available during specific Minior Showers which match up with real world meteor showers. Each one will also have a different Minior colour, so it's worth knowing the Minior Shower schedule if you want to collect them all! Alongside this, I've also taken a look at shiny Minior and the 'Minior Shower Timed Research' quest.
Orionids Shower (Green Minior) Ends: Saturday 24th October at 11:59pm (local time)

During a Minior Shower, there's a chance Minior will spawn outside of the hours listed above.
How to get Minior in Pokémon Go
Minior appears in the wild in its Meteor Form between 5pm to 11:59pm (local time) during the meteor showers listed above. Remember - you're looking for the brown Meteor Form and not the coloured core version of Minior. Though myself, and other players, have spotted Minior outside of this time frame, so keep an eye out for a fallen star no matter what time it is!
This means if you want to catch the Green Core Minior, for example, you need to be playing Pokémon Go in the evenings between 19th to 24th October. Miss this window and you'll either have to trade for your Green Core Minior or wait until the next year.
The good news is that Minior has increased spawn rates between 5pm to 9pm (local time) on every day during each meteor shower. There will even be shooting stars in-game, so you know exactly when this bonus is active!
The ever first Minior Shower is occuring this week! Want to know what's happening this month? Then take a look at the October schedule if you're already looking ahead. Don't forget to keep an eye out for both the rarest Pokémon and the best Pokémon in your travels.
Pokémon Go Minior Meteor Form explained
Minior has two forms: Meteor and Core. As the name suggests, Meteor is when this Pokémon is covered in a rocky shell and Core is when that shell falls away. With the exact name of the Core form differing upon its colour. You can use both forms in battle in Pokémon Go!
Minior will remain in its Meteor form until its HP drops beneath 50% when it's coloured Core will be exposed. Depending on which form Minior is in, it will have slightly different stats too:
- Meteor Stats - High Defense, low Attack.
- Core Stats - High Attack, low Defense.
Upon its initial release, Minior can only change forms when battling Team Rocket, including the leaders, and in the Go Battle League.

Is it shiny Minior in Pokémon Go?
No, shiny Minior is not in Pokémon Go. Sadly, this means we'll all have to wait a little longer until we can catch this shiny form. When it does arrive, we'll also hopefully get some hints on how we'll know if we're attempting to catch a shiny Minior as, in the mainline Pokémon games, you can only tell if Minior has left its Metor form or after catching it. Personally I think Pokémon Go will take the latter approach as it will be similar to catching shiny Ditto.
When it comes to shiny Minior itself, it's one of my personal favourites. I love the black design as it makes the coloured triangles on Minior really pop and fits the Pokémon's overall theme very well.
Best of luck catching Minior in Pokémon Go!
